http://www.solo-associates.co.uk/home.htm
Solo
associates are a collective of musicians, labels and promoters. Their aim
is to provide a concise and helpful directory for
anyone interested in independent music. They also produce a fanzine and CD
- if you are in a band send them a promo and if they like it you could be
on their CD - and run a record label.
-
Soundsxp
http://www.soundsxp.com
One of the best webzines around. Always up to date and full of a wide range
of releases. Review tons of T&F stuff so we like 'em lots!

-
GZ Digital Media
http://www.gzcd.cz
This is where we get most of our vinyl pressed. GZ are based about 10 miles
from Prague in the Czech Republic. The quality is amazing and the service
equally so. They're also pretty cheap!
-
Key Production
http://www.keyproduction.co.uk
We do our CDs here. Probably not the cheapest but basically the service is
good and they're a one-stop shop for everything you'll need... right from
the art to the mastering to the bar code.

Record
shops...
This is a list of some record shops that we like. It's clearly not an exhaustive
list but simply a few pointers towards people we think are cool and deserve
your support. Let us know if you have any others and we'll gladly add them.
And you never know, we might also share with you our list of thieving b***tards...
- Penny
Black Music
http://www.pennyblackmusic.com
Excellent web shop with loads of reviews and an on-line magazine. If you search
hard enough you'll also be able to find an interview with Track & Field.
- Rough
Trade shops
http://www.roughtrade.com
One of the best known shops throughout the world. The Talbot Road branch in
west London is especially worth a visit to anyone wandering round the capital.
If they don't have it then it probably isn't worth buying anyway.
- Norman
Records
http://www.normanrecords.com
Phil in Leeds runs a very personal service (oo-er) specialising in many smaller
labels, including his own Jonathan Whiskey. Opal Music www.opalmusic.com Comprehensive
web based shop based oop north somewhere.
- Piccadilly
Records
http://www.piccadillyrecords.com
Manchester's premier record shop. It's definitely the best place in Manchester
to get hold of new releases including a decent stock of seven inch singles.
They also have a web shop.
- Darla
Records
http://www.darla.com
Not only is Darla the US home for Saloon but they also run a very fine distribution
and record sales service. Always have the Track & Field catalogue in stock
which is clearly okay by us!
-
Plastic Bird
http://website.lineone.net/%7Ealun-jones/index.html
Manchester based webs tore which specialises in Americana, psyche and E6 type
stuff. Mainly second hand and certainly a few bargains. Alun also runs the
new Broken Horse label and is pals with Screen Prints!

Photographs
and photographers...
- Alison
Wonderland
http://www.alisonwonderland.co.uk
You may already own some of Alison's work - she has provided the photography
for many a well - loved indie record sleeve - Comet Gain's SAY YES!, Heavenly's
Operation Heavenly and many Television Personalities' releases to name but
a few. As well as working as a music photographer, Alison has taken some great
photos of her friends' children some of which are shown on her website - you
may even spot one or two with indie popstar parents.
- Underexposed
http://www.underexposed.org.uk
Bob Underexposed's site is great! It's a pictorial record of most of the gigs
we've been to and quite a few of the gigs Track & Field have put on. You'll
find very professional pics of The Loves, Saloon, Kicker, Dressy Bessy, Comet
Gain, The Tyde and Ladybug Transistor in Bob's extensive photo archive.

- Audrey
Hepburn
Arie's Audrey Hepburn Page
http://www.geocities.com/Hollywood/Academy/9167/ahgallery.html
Not much on this site but there are some nice pics and
you can see some of Ms Hepburn's childhood drawings.
Audrey Hepburn L'Ange Des Enfants
http://www.audrey1.com/
On this Audrey Hepburn site, you will find a large collection
of original photos, a complete filmography, sound and video clips in Real
Audio/Video format, and more. Right now the Audrey Hepburn - L'Ange des Enfants
comprises over 2550 rare and exclusive pictures and almost 1 gigabyte of content
(with much more on the way).
- Auf
Wiedersehen Pet
The Original Auf Wiedersehen Pet Home Page
http://www.aufpet.com
Our favourite comedy drama from the 80s (and 2002) about those loveable geordie
brickies and their mates.
- Bewitched
http://www.bewitched.net/
Welcome
to the bewitching town of Westport, Connecticut circa 1964. Take a seat in
the Montgomerys' TV den and re-live the kitsch of this fab 60s sitcom.
- The
Office
BBC Office site
http://www.bbc.co.uk/comedy/theoffice
The official BBC site with stuff that ranges from
interviews with the stars and clips from
the series to a Wernham Hogg style pub quiz, Gareth's home page and downloadable
screensavers and desktops.
Welcome to the World of The Office
http://homepage.mac.com/elliottday/theoffice/
This guy is obsessed - he even set a stapler in
jelly (aping the jape that Tim plays on Gareth in the first series) to see
if it would be feasible and has written out the moves just in case you need
to replicate David Brent's "dance" in the second series. You too
could soon be an Office obsessive - this site is jam packed with interesting
stuff including a hilarious interview with Ewan MacIntosh who played Keith.
The Official Martin Freeman Website
http://www.martinfreeman.com
Martin Freeman played everyone's favourite character
- Office anti-hero Tim Canterbury. This site has loads about other stuff he's
done and is created by his brother Jamie so you can be sure it's all kosher.
Martin deserves a special mention as apparently he's an expert on 60s and
70s soul and jazz. A little bit of indie trivia - his brother is Tim Freeman,
singer in 80s indie band Frazier Chorus.
If
you know of any cool sites drop us an e-mail
....oh and please contact us if any of these links don't work....Cheers!
